To warmly welcome the new batch and provide its students a glimpse into their college and professional life ahead, Jain College, Hubli, organized an orientation program from October 11 to October 13, 2021. The three-day-long orientation program included interactive sessions with impactful, knowledgeable, and experienced speakers. The speakers covered various topics associated with life, education, and career.

Day 1:
The first day of the orientation had Mr. Gururaj Patil as the keynote speaker. The session focused on orienting students with skills required to lead a balanced life. The points discussed by the speaker highlighted the importance of learning and acquiring knowledge as compared to job expectations and responsibilities. He explained how our actions in present may have consequences in the future. He said, “Excitement is what fuels learning, and we should begin each day with the enthusiasm to learn new things.” The session offered valuable insights into goal setting and mental health.

Day 2:
On day two, Ms. Shilpa Somanathan acquired the role of the keynote speaker. The session aimed at making students understand how to utilize available resources in the best possible way to excel in life. The speaker included various concept-based activities and explained how we often ignore opportunities. The activity-based session enabled students to develop a new way of thought processing in solving the problems and different viewpoints to get the best solution with existing resources. She said, "Go higher, but do not forget your base." The students learned the importance of grabbing opportunities and making the best out of those in life.

Day 3:
Day three of the session proceeded with Mr. Ramani Venkat as the keynote speaker. The objective of the session was to highlight the significance of the proper application of knowledge over the importance of just acquiring knowledge as the latter just makes an individual literate, but the former helps one become smart. Various strategies were discussed regarding business models and advertisements. The speaker focused on the practical implementation of the knowledge acquired. He said, “Focus on your dreams and work on them to achieve success.”

The three-day orientation program was a great learning experience for students and a perfect start to their new academic journey.
